2020 Awards Program and Qualifying Rules Changes
Due to COVID, the Indiana Dressage Society Board of Directors has voted to enact several changes to the 2020 awards season to allow more opportunity to for our competitors to participate. The following changes enacted only for the 2020 awards season override the standard rules from the IDS Handbook.
2020 Awards Season Extended through September 26th, 2020
To make up for shows cancelled in the Spring, the 2020 Awards Season has been extended to include scores through Saturday, September 26th 2020. The 2021 awards season will start on September 27th, 2020.
Qualifying Criteria Modifications for 2020
Some qualification rules were relaxed as well
- IDS Championship Qualification Changes
- Qualifying scores can be earned at a single show and/or under a single judge.
- High Percentage Awards
- The number of rides needed to qualify for Intro – 4th was reduced from 6 to 4.
- The number of rides needed to qualify for FEI Levels was reduced from 3 to 2.
- Qualifying scores can be earned at a single show and/or under a single judge.
IDS Ride-Offs & Fall Schooling Show Extended to 2-days
To give riders one more opportunity to earn scores towards 2020 awards, we extended the Fall Schooling show from 1-day to 2-days. This allows riders to earn a qualifying score in a Saturday, September 26th class to become eligible to ride in an IDS Championship class the next day on Sunday, September 27th.
Entries for Championship Classes held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 will be accepted from any horse/rider pair that is qualified AND ALSO any horse/rider pair that could become qualified before or on Saturday, September 26. If a horse/rider pair fails to earn a score needed to qualify, we will re-assign your Sunday ride(s) to the equivalent Non-Championship Class which count toward awards in the 2021 season.
