More About the Volunteer Committee

What Else Does a Member of the Volunteer Committee Do?

Each year we pick a few special things to do to improve the volunteering experience or to help with volunteer recruitment.  For example, two years ago, we made signs to make sure riders knew to check in with the warm-up ring steward, created templates to make recruiting volunteers easier on SignUpGenius, and had a drawing to reward volunteering (the more you volunteered, the more chances to win $ that you got).  We also finished training tapes -- short entertaining videos to help convey information about each of the volunteer jobs.

This year we are working to improve our social media reach.  We typically set the agenda in March to include what other things volunteer committee members will be doing, as well as to assign a show to each volunteer coordinator (usually everyone gets their preference, so it works out!).

Each year we do something different, so we welcome new ideas and talents that can make our IDS shows and events run more smoothly (and be more fun for the volunteers too!).  Please contact me if you are interested in joining the committee:  Denise Driscoll, 765.427.3482 or
